my roommate taped everything shut. not labeled, SHUT. every container in the fridge has like three strips of masking tape over the lid like we're shipping it across the ocean. i opened the leftover rice yesterday and needed scissors. i said dude it's rice, not plutonium, and he said "it's about respect for shared food." case closed: this man has lost it. who's right. pic is the actual fridge, i wish i was joking
okay but honestly? i feel a LITTLE for your roommate. someone in my old flat ate my leftover thai green curry that i had been thinking about all day at work and i cried. actual tears. i'm not saying tape is the answer but i understand the fear underneath it
we had a lad on the boat years ago who'd tape up his lunchbox every morning... bit of masking round the whole thing, press it down with his thumb, real ceremony to it. said his missus had taught him and he wasn't about to argue. half the crew reckoned he was cracked... he sailed twenty odd years and never lost a sandwich, so draw your own conclusions...
cute story oldsalt, irrelevant. a sandwich and a bowl of rice are not the same. you can eat a sandwich through tape if you commit. i had to fetch SCISSORS from a DRAWER to eat my own dinner. this man is treating leftovers like classified documents. roommate has lost it, i stand fully corrected never. case closed
you're missing the point entirely lad... the point of the tape was never the tape. Prendergast kept his hot sauce bottle in his locker wrapped in tape too, after it got left on a hot plate and made a mess... said tape means you meant it. your roommate means it. question is whether you can live with a man who means things...
i have never eaten my roommate's rice and i would remember, i don't do stealth eating, i do loud eating. also please stop bringing up prendergast, i am not prepared for that today. point stands: scissors required = roommate has lost it. case closed
> you can eat a sandwich through tape if you commit
that's the strongest sentence ever posted on this board and i want it on a mug. the mustard cap being taped is the part nobody's defending though
the containers i get, honestly i get it, but taping the milk and mustard is where your roommate lost me. if i can't get the milk out for a coffee without a whole arts and crafts session i'd be sulking for a week. and yet. and YET. i still feel the fear underneath it dani would say i'm projecting
long time lurker, made an account just for this. we had a shared house fridge where one guy started taping his stuff after two rounds of things vanishing and within a month four of us were taping ours too. it spreads. it's contagious. the fridge looked like a bomb went off in a post office but nothing went missing again
see even your lurker admits it spreads. tape contagion is not a healthy household. i maintain: scissors required = case closed, roommate has lost it, and oldsalt please the Prendergast thing stays in 2019 where it belongs
