File: a-wide-glass-jar.webp (14 KB, 512x512)
A wide glass jar half filled with cloudy grey-green tinted water, streaks of muted violet and ochre pigment settling at the bottom, sitting on the corner of a cluttered wooden desk at night, a single warm lamp casting a soft pool of light, paintbrushes resting nearby, a dark bedsheet visible in the background covering a window, quiet moody atmosphere, photographic, shallow depth of field
Okay but hear me out, the jar of forbidden soup. This is my paint water and it has been sitting on the corner of my desk since roughly last Tuesday. I keep meaning to change it and then I mix one more wash and suddenly it is a science experiment. At this point it is basically a portrait of everything I painted this week, which I think counts as a record of my work. Does anyone else let theirs get this bad or am I the only goblin in the building?
change it before the smell turns. also that violet settling at the bottom means you're using too much water in your washes, but yeah mine gets like that after a couple days too. jar of soup is a rite of passage.
the jar of forbidden soup!! back in the day my art teacher in school had one of these on the windowsill and it was basically a conversation piece, brown-green with like six months of sediment. she called it her pigment archive. yours is way prettier tho, the violet and ochre streaks look like one of those glass paperweights my nan had!
mine gets that color by day two. i leave it on the counter and then drink coffee next to it like an idiot. it's fine. probably.
