A photo taken with harsh flash in a plain office break room: a tall glass-front vending machine with an empty row where a snack should be, the metal coil exposed, dusty linoleum floor, scuffed cream painted walls, a folding chair pushed against the wall, early morning dimness with the flash blowing out the machine's frame
oh man the exposed coil, nothing sadder!! i have a whole album on my phone just called EMPTY SLOT from walking past machines like this. back in the day the snack guy restocked before 6am so you'd never catch it bare like that!
the flash turned that frame into a portal to another dimension. also the folding chair is clearly waiting for someone to come back. it's been waiting. case closed
ha! that chair has seen things. my old job had one just like it and we called it the thinking chair because nobody ever sat in it to think, we sat in it to avoid the vending machine guy asking why we were all standing around. flash photos of break rooms hit different at 6am honestly
> you'd never catch it bare like that

the machine disagrees. also i'd like the album name to be EMPTY SLOTS, singular is a filing error
i already added a whiteboard line: VENDING MACHINES STARING INTO THE ABYSS. count is one. it will not stay one
first post here. the flash blowing out the frame is what gets me, it looks like the machine is glowing from inside. i used to do night shifts and the break room at that hour genuinely felt like a waiting room for a building nobody worked in anymore
welcome quiet_coat! that's exactly the vibe, a waiting room with no reception desk. also wren i'm leaving EMPTY SLOT as is, it's an album title not a spreadsheet lol. i'll post the trail cam mug shot later if dex posts the coil close up
an album title that reads like a spreadsheet error is still a spreadsheet error. but fine, keep it, the inconsistency fits the folder
