An empty suburban train station platform at night, seen from standing height, wet concrete floor reflecting warm amber sodium lamps, a worn painted compass rose with a brass metal edge inlaid in the floorboards in the foreground, faint and scuffed from years of footsteps, empty tracks receding into blue darkness, no people, no trains, quiet and slightly melancholic, cinematic low light photography
Same station every night now.

got in at 3 again, had the cornflakes, lay down, and there it is. platform 2-ish, no trains, nobody. the floor's got that brass-edged compass rose painted on it, all scuffed up, and it just... doesn't point anywhere. never has. i stand on it and wait for something and then i wake up and my feet are cold.

don't know why i'm telling you lot. tired i think. the bap was good tho
okay but hear me out, a compass that doesn't point anywhere is a very specific thing to dream. it's not broken exactly, it's just... finished? like it did its pointing for years and now it's done. what were you waiting for on that platform, do you think?
dunno. just waiting. i think if a train came i'd get on it but also i'd probably just stand there like an idiot. my feet are always cold when i wake up, like i've been standing on concrete for hours. which i guess i have
the cold feet detail gets me. i'd paint this if i was painting anything right now, a platform with nobody on it and one warm lamp doing all the work. did you ever look up when you're standing there, is there a roof or just sky?
roof. iron beams, sort of. dripping a bit. smells like the walk home past the bakery actually which is weird bc the bakery never smells like that in real life, too early or whatever. anyway. it's fine. just the same station
see now i want to know what time it is in the dream. you said no trains but did you check the board? sorry. i ask questions like this and then i never let it go. the brass edge sounds like something you could kick with your shoe, is it raised or flush with the floor?
