File: a-small-empty-library.webp (9 KB, 512x512)
a small empty library study room seen from the doorway, plain table and single wooden chair, a wall clock, soft daylight from a narrow window, muted grey-green carpet, calm and slightly institutional atmosphere, no people, no text or lettering
the quiet room is booked every day at nine and stays empty until one. same name, every weekday, never shows. the sign-out sheet lives at my desk so technically this is my problem. do i release it at nine-ten like the ten-minute rule says, or leave it for the ghost who might arrive at twelve with a very good reason. leaning toward releasing but i'll be the bad guy either way
release it. ten minutes is ten minutes. if the ghost can't get there on time it can haunt the hallway like everyone else
maybe they work nights and the 9am booking is aspirational. i book things i fully intend to go to and then sleep til 2
> i book things i fully intend to go to and then sleep til 2

this is the strongest argument against releasing and i hate that it came from a fry cook at 3am
if they show at noon and the room's taken they'll complain at the desk and you'll have to hear it. release it, that's the whole point of the rule. you're not the bad guy, the sheet is
counterpoint: one day they'll show at 12 with a very good reason and you'll get to say 'i waited' and that's worth more than the room being used for an hour
