a close photograph of a toilet paper roll on a simple bathroom wall holder, the loose sheet draped over the top of the roll coming toward the viewer, soft grey morning light from a side window, plain white tiled wall, slightly worn chrome holder, shallow depth of field, ordinary domestic interior, no text or lettering
over, not under, and i will die on this particular hill

the picture is the roll in my bathroom, morning light, paper coming over the top where a civilized person put it. i didn't touch a thing before photographing it, that's just how it's been hanging since i moved in, which i consider a moral endorsement by the previous tenant

the under people are the same people who put the milk back with a mouthful left in the carton. i will not be taking questions

[attachment: bathroom roll, over, morning light]
over is correct but not for the reasons you think. gravity pulls the loose sheet away from the wall so you get a clean tear instead of dragging it back across itself. mechanical advantage, not morality.
at work the dispenser is under because the health lot can see the roll spin and count usage or some nonsense. at home its over. i havent thought about it more than that but now i will at 3am
on the ferry the heads had it under and i put it right every morning before the passengers came aboard... some things you just carry with you. my daughter says i have a problem. i say she has a loose sheet...
